Switching Gears
(Last Updated On: June 21, 2009)
Well, it looks like I’m finally giving in and letting that awful season known as summer win out and make me switch from skiing to summertime activities. The ski stuff is getting packed and put in the closet today, there just isn’t enough room to keep the ski gear and bike gear out and about.
Yes, I know there is still good skiing to be had. This cold and wet June made for a better than expected late spring ski season. In fact, there is actually more snow up high right now than there was at this time of year last year. But summer isn’t just the season of no snow, it’s also the season where I need to work a lot more than in winter, and every weekend seems to have something going on, whether it’s a wedding or people visiting or a BBQ or something. It starts getting harder to get up early to walk a long approach to ski when one can just sleep in and get on a bike later on in the day.
I haven’t caught the bike bug yet this season, in fact it’s kind of been boring to me, but hopefully I’ll start getting more psyched on biking as more and more trails dry out and I can once again get into the high country like I try to do skiing as much as possible. I’m sure the occasional bike TR will be forthcoming…

Bike grump… Admit that you love it.
I’ll admit that it is better with tires that roll…
Hate to see you go Frank.
You’re not ending it on your Rainier trip, Jordan?
Nope, Skied Conundrum last weekend, plans for this weekend, and more for the 4th! A bunch of rock climbing mixed in though.
