TR: Out in the Backcountry Again (12 Dec 2010)
(Last Updated On: December 13, 2010)
On Sunday, Frank and I were joined by our friend Zach for some skiing in the backcountry. It had been two weeks since I’d ventured into the Crested Butte backcountry. With a few recent storms, I was curious what the backcountry had to offer.
As always, the views are wonderful.
Frank and Zack breaking trail.
High winds prevented us from venturing above treeline and made us re-evaluate our line choice.
The snow was wind-affected, but we were able to find some good turns anyway. Zack.
Looking back at a few of our tracks.
The high winds have had a big affect on our snowpack lately. Still, there’s good skiing to be found!
