TR: From Blazing to Blizzard (Axtell Ski, 13 April 2014)

It’s been blazing. Blazing hot that is. The heat really only recently arrived and lasted just a few days. But, with the already existing dust layer, the heat really took a toll on our snowpack. So, while most of Crested Butte reveled in gripes when it started dumping Sunday morning, we couldn’t have been happier.
We spent Sunday morning admiring the snow, waiting for it to stack up, and completing our taxes. Yes, the joys of every day life. But, in the end, it led to rewards. We didn’t even hit the skin track until 3:15 but found a good 6-inches of fresh that skied more like 10.
