Anna and Rohan are on a mission. They are on a mission to ski all 14 fourteeners in the Sawatch Range over 14 days.

Get it? There’s a 14 theme going on here. Anna and Rohan were even planning their departure for 4/14/2014 (yes, even the year has a 14 in it), but instead left on the 12th to take advantage of the extra weekend and are currently 6 days in to their 14 day trip.

So, why are they doing this? Their project is called Fourteeners for Teens. And it’s all for a GREAT cause. Anna and Rohan are embarking on this incredible mission as a fundraising effort to generate money for Full Circle, a youth program for residents and visitors of Leadville, CO.

According to the Fourteeners for Teens website:

Full Circle provides opportunities for underprivileged young people in Leadville to experience all the activities that people come from many miles away to experience: hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, xc and downhill skiing, as well as community service projects, life skills education, and mentoring with caring adults. Full Circle activities are free for participants, and are entirely funded by grants and donations. Weโ€™re asking for your help to continue and enhance these programs: If you believe that youth living in the shadows of the highest peaks in the state deserve a chance to stand at the top and look down at their homes in the valley, please visit our website or consider making a donation.

Anna and Rohan have raised about $5000 for Full Circle, plenty short of their goal of $14,000.

Many of us have been privileged enough to have our parents teach us a love for the outdoors. But, as a teacher on the Front Range, I was so surprised at how many students had barely experienced the mountains. How can we expect people to believe in conserving our fabulous National Lands if they don’t experience what these places can offer? Full Circle helps youth experience and appreciate their surroundings. Please consider helping Full Circle continue to impact youth by contributing to Fourteeners for Teens.

In the meantime, you can follow Anna and Rohan’s progress on their Spot Tracker page. And to Anna and Rohan – Good Luck!
