Day 2 at Sheepshead Cabin
(Last Updated On: March 28, 2014)
We settled in the first day and took a little evening ski on this mountain:
After a late arrival of our remaining friends the night before, we were slow to awaken the next morning. And, when we did, it was obvious that the wind was moving limbs on the nearby trees, indicating a gusty day. To top it off, high clouds warned us of an oncoming front. And, before we knew it, we were enshrouded in a wall of grey.
How do you best handle skiing on a greybird day? Head for the trees. It turned out there were a whole bunch of nice tree pitches accessible from the cabin. How accessible? Well, we strapped our skis on in front of the deck, and skied from there. We took turns, with sleds picking up the previous skiers, and then swapping. I don’t know how many laps we put in, but it was a lot. It was just that easy.
Susan.
Me.
Frank.
Later on, the celebration ensued. While it has been 4 months since Frank’s birthday, this whole trip was still part of his birthday bash.
But, the skiing we had the next day was the real reason why we came to Sheepshead. A little teaser…. Shredding Susan 🙂
