TR: Gathering Rubies (26 Oct 2013)
(Last Updated On: )
Our friends Fritz and Allison were visiting from the Front Range and they were overdue for a dose of good Crested Butte snow. Although, warm temperatures from the week had taken a toll on our early-season snowpack, we knew that the snow would still be good if we looked in the right places. Both of our guests were tired from a long ski the day before. So, we opted for terrain that was easily accessed and offered options.
The moon greeted us as we skinned under bluebird skies.

We cruised our way to the summit. Allison.
And gazed upon the tail-end of Fall on the other side.
Fritz dropped into the variable snow-slope first.

While we enjoyed the ski and the snow, I knew we could find even better snow just around the corner. So, we went in search of recycled pow. Allison and Fritz making their way up the skin track.
Love this view.

A look over at our previous line.

Time to ski! Fritz.
We definitely found quality snow. Me.
Allison.
Another quality day in our fine Crested Butte mountains. I sure do love it here 🙂
