TR: Ruby Hike (13 July 2013)
(Last Updated On: August 11, 2013)
Ruby Peak is a nice hike that offers fantastic views from the summit, and also takes visitors past the spectacular Green Lake. Shorter than climbing Mount Owen, this peak is a great alternative for some, or it can easily be tied in with an Owen climb itself. Not long after returning from a month of travels, I took some time to climb Ruby Peak.
Mt. Owen.
Ruby Peak, with the Ruby-Owen Saddle to the right, which is the standard approach route.
Green Lake hanging high in the mountains.
One of the many excellent summit views.
View south.
Owen and the Elks in the distance.

Me enjoying a low-wind day on the summit.

In the mountains, fall is just around the corner. Get out there and enjoy those last days of summer!
