Thanksgiving Thanks!
(Last Updated On: November 25, 2009)
Frank and I, here at 14erskiers, would like to thank all of our viewers for checking us out on a regular basis. We would also like to extend our gratitude by wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Since elementary school I’ve been “trained” to think about all the things that I have to give “thanks” for around the Thanksgiving Holiday. Somehow, this tradition has continued to be engrained in my mind. This Thanksgiving I have a lot to be thankful for, despite having a rough year medically. Most of you are aware of the fact that I tore my ACL in February, resulting in reconstructive surgery the following month. Then, this summer I had another scare caused by a suspicious tumor in my thyroid, resulting in a partial thyroid lobectomy. All in all, both of these surgeries were successful and I am thankful to be in good health for the moment.
But, I have so much more to be thankful for…. I’m thankful to be living in a place I love, to have my back yard be a mountain playground were I can hike, climb, bike and ski whenever my heart desires. I am happy to have a boyfriend that cares for me and supports me in all that I do. I am thankful to have employment tutoring students that are wonderful people and whom I’m happy to help and make a difference in their lives. I am happy that my parents care for me and support me, despite the fact that they might not like every decision I make with my life. I am thankful to be surrounded by friends who make me smile and laugh continuously…..
I have so much to be thankful for, that I cannot possibly list everything. Most of all, however, I am thankful to be alive, healthy, happy, and living the life that I want to be living. I cannot ask for anything better!
