TR: Independence Pass (29 May 2011)

(Last Updated On: )

Over Memorial Day weekend, Frank and I headed over to Independence Pass to join our Aspen friends Anton and Jordan. Despite a lack of a good freeze, Independence Pass skied much better than it has in a few years. We found great coverage, happy skiers, and good friends.

After that the snow was warming dangerously fast. So, instead of taking another lap, we hung out in the parking lot with friends we ran into. We headed down to Aspen in the afternoon, and enjoyed the giant snowbanks that towered over the road.

Not every ski day needs to be extreme to be fun. This day was a great mellow spring-ski hang-out sort of day. Those can be fun too 🙂
