TR: Just another day in the White Room (5 Feb 2011)
(Last Updated On: )
Just a few inches in the town of Crested Butte can often amount to a foot or more in the Irwin area, especially with Northwesterly flows. This was the case with Saturday’s storm. This has been a powdery sort of year. And we decided to indulge in it just a bit more as we headed out to the Anthracites for three good laps in the White Room.
We were a little worried when the day started out like this.
But it got better 🙂
Visibility quickly diminished on lap 3. Frank is in there somewhere- shouting my name as he skied from the trees toward me.
With the winds increasing and visibility decreasing, we skied the last pitches quickly. Just another day in the backcountry and another visit to the White Room 🙂
