Park Guell<\/a> is an outdoor Gaudi Wonderland. Free for all, this park displays some of Gaudi’s best work. We enjoyed walking along the pathways from one Gaudi composition to another. Strolling through this outdoor museum, I couldn’t help but be hungry- I felt like I was in a giant game of Candyland!

From Park Guell you can see how Sangrada Familia dominates the Barcelona skyline.

Gaudi took care in all aspects of his design- from beautiful mosaics to ergonomics (these hard benches are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever sat on!)

Even the gift shops around Park Guell seem to capture the spirit of Gaudi.

That evening, we finished our Modernisme day by enjoying dinner at Quatre Gats. Built in 1897, this restaurant was frequented by many Modernists at the turn of the century.

But, no visit to Barcelona is complete without a visit to the Palau de la Musica<\/a>. Built from 1905 to 1908 by Montaner, it truly is Barcelona’s most magnificent structure.
\n<\/p>\n

Again, this is one architectural piece that is difficult to capture in a photograph, so I had to search on the Internet once again.

The best way to see the interior of the Palau is to go to one of the many concerts<\/a> held there. However, in August, no concerts are held at the Palau. We opted for a paid tour instead. Pictures aren’t allowed, but I found a few off the Internet that offer a sense of the magnificence that radiates from the walls of this fantastically built structure.

We saw a plethora of art in Barcelona, but the Modernisme architecture was by far my favorite. It’s uniqueness, aesthetic style, and vibrant color welcomes everyone.<\/p>\n
