Frank, enjoying some time in the White Room.  <\/em><\/p>\n<p>We had been devoid of fresh snowfall for two weeks.  We were teased with a skiff of fluffy white stuff on Thursday morning, and the forecast for snowfall in the near-coming days was not very promising.  Imagine our delight when we awoke to 4-inches of fresh on Friday morning.  And it snowed all day long and into the night.  The 8-inches of storm total for the ski area easily translated to over a foot in the backcountry.  It was time to go reap some deep.  <\/p>\n<p>I never get tired of this stunning view.  And this snow-cloud continued to blanket our western peaks the entire day.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/14erskiers.com\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/schuykill_22dec2013\/dscn9759view.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>We were greeting by a setting waning moon.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/14erskiers.com\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/schuykill_22dec2013\/img_0118moon.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The day couldn&#8217;t have been more beautiful.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/14erskiers.com\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/schuykill_22dec2013\/img_0122valleyview.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more READ MORE--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/14erskiers.com\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/schuykill_22dec2013\/dscn9764frank.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>As we dropped in, we found the snow to be much deeper than expected &#8211; always a pleasant surprise.
