I never thought I’d say it.\u00a0 I’m not really a summer person.\u00a0 I live<\/em> for winter.\u00a0 But, here I am, welcoming summer! It’s been the months of misery, wishing I could ski but couldn’t.\u00a0 Months of physical therapy and hating every moment it snowed because I couldn’t enjoy it and I had walk outside like a gaper with my Yak Traks.\u00a0\u00a0 I was approved to ride my bike outside a month after ACL surgery.\u00a0 And for the first time in my life, I just wanted the snow to end.<\/p>\n

But the snow wouldn’t end.\u00a0 Even two weeks ago, it was snowing.\u00a0 Finally, summer arrived in Crested Butte on the 21st of June- right on schedule.\u00a0 It was our first hot day.\u00a0 It was 70 degrees \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 Since then, I’ve been soaking up the sun, enjoying the warmth, and taking advantage of being able to do things outside.<\/p>\n

Even though I can’t ride single track, I’m still happy to be on my bike.\u00a0 Usually, I’m reluctant to give up the skis for the bike.\u00a0 But this spring, I barely spent the time outside that I am used to.\u00a0 So, I am happy to be able to do something<\/em> outside, and riding my bike is the thing I do.<\/p>\n

Summer is a social time here in Crested Butte and I like that.\u00a0 Whether it’s mountain biking, hiking, drinks on the patio in front of the Brick Oven, free Alpenglow music concerts, plays, BBQ’s, parties, weddings, or something else, it seems like friends are always there.\u00a0\u00a0 Summer is lovely in the Butte.<\/p>\n
