Last season, with the horrible snow year, we only made it there once, and it wasn&#8217;t very good.  This year has been nearly as thin (though the skiing has been markedly better), so it wasn&#8217;t until this late point in the season that we finally made it out there.  Considering that one late spring I skied Axtell 8 straight days, 2 days in 2 years feels positively weird.  <\/p>\n<p>Being close to town, Axtell&#8217;s snowpack is much different than what we found near Kebler Pass last week- meaning a whole lot thinner.
