Over 3 years ago, Brittany and I were contacted by The Mountaineers books to write a Colorado backcountry skiing guidebook. The Mountaineers already had two titles in the series of state guidebooks, which were Oregon and Washington, plus a Utah book was in the works (also, a California book is being published this fall in addition to our book). While we certainly deliberated for a long while before agreeing to write Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Routes: Colorado<\/em>, we eventually decided to go for it, and we’re proud of the book that has our names on it.<\/p>\n

One of our big goals was to showcase the incredible variety of Colorado. And not just the terrain, but the special character of the different ranges and towns where these routes are located. In that aspect, I think we’ve been quite successful. There is some cool stuff in this book, and we were grateful to have the opportunity to travel Colorado and do the “research”. I.e skiing!<\/p>\n
