Last spring, Scott and I ventured up Square Top Mountain<\/a> near Guanella Pass in Colorado. So, it was only appropriate that when I decided to ski Argentine Peak, in the same area as Square Top, that Scott would be my first partner of choice. Luckily, he agreed, and we returned to the Silver Dollar Lake trailhead where we’d skied the year before.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t long before we spotted Argentine Peak, and the north face we wanted to ski which drops to the right and behind the ridge in this photo.

The day started out bluebird but quickly turned to grey with clouds from an oncoming front – Welcome to Colorado, the new Pacific Northwest.

Once we reached the summit, we hurried to dash the squall that was headed in our direction. Scott.

After that, we headed up the saddle beside Wilcox where we found some more good skiing. Me.

We skied all the way back to the car at the trailhead. All in all, a pretty short yet fun day! I would imagine that Argentine Peak is going to have some good skiing for quite some time this year!<\/p>\n
