I’ve been backcountry skiing skiing quite a bit since the snow began to fly in mid-November. Some of the days you’ve likely read about on this blog, but many days have gone unpublished. Sometimes only one or two pictures gets taken. Sometimes none at all. Sometimes I just have so many pictures that it takes me a while to sort through them all….<\/p>\n

So, this report bundles up the photos I’ve taken on a few different November-skiing occasions. I hope you enjoy them \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Mt. Emmons \/ Red Lady<\/strong>
\nDuring the first big storm, Josh, Jenny and I broke the trail to the ridge.

The winds kept increasing, and by the time we reached the exposed ridge, the weather was heinous – the kind of weather where skinning while wearing a helmet, goggles, and hood is a good idea.

We made it up to treeline and had a good run skiing the glades back down. But, needless to say, it wasn’t exactly a picture-kind-of-taking day.<\/p>\n

A few days later, the weather broke and the sun beat down hard as we hiked up the same route.

With the warm weather and near windless day, we headed to the summit. Starr on top of the bowl.

The skiing was a tad wind affected from the storm, but Mark made it look pretty darned good.

\nA little later, I had the opportunity to ski with Alex & Susan, two of my best female ski partners. It was another warm day.

The skiing was great. Susan killing it.

Susan is most known for her career as a pro snowboarder. But, this girl can hold her own on skis too.

These goggles capture Alex’s amazing view.

And we used some creativity to cross the stream at the end of our line.
