Not a far drive from St. John’s<\/a> is Cape Spear<\/a>. Easily seen from Signal Hill<\/a>, Cape Spear is the eastern most point in North America.

The day was foggy, making views more obscure, but perhaps a bit more interesting.

From the old lighthouse, the new lighthouse could barely be seen as the fog rolled in. Notice the green light?

The fog horn blew about every 40 second or so. Here’s a video clip, capturing the sound that has comforted many seaman in the past. Notice the echo it left, which went on for about 10-15 seconds after the actual horn blew.
