She inspires many, and gives solace to other.  Still, every now and then I am in awe of the destructive forces Mother Nature can also exhibit.  <\/p>\n<p>In the last few weeks, Colorado has experienced a lot of rain, resulting in numerous washouts and landslides.  We saw one on our own local 401 trail earlier this week.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/s173.photobucket.com\/albums\/w74\/mtnbikerskierchick\/?action=view&#038;current=0810100926aWashout.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i173.photobucket.com\/albums\/w74\/mtnbikerskierchick\/0810100926aWashout.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s173.photobucket.com\/albums\/w74\/mtnbikerskierchick\/?action=view&#038;current=0810100927Washout.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i173.photobucket.com\/albums\/w74\/mtnbikerskierchick\/0810100927Washout.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s173.photobucket.com\/albums\/w74\/mtnbikerskierchick\/?action=view&#038;current=0810100927aWashout.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i173.photobucket.com\/albums\/w74\/mtnbikerskierchick\/0810100927aWashout.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photobucket\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/sections\/News\/2010\/07\/29\/Mud_rockslides_halt_DSNG\/\">Durango-Silverton Railway<\/a> experienced this, causing the passenger trail to come to an abrupt halt:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.durangoherald.com\/sections\/News\/2010\/07\/29\/Mud_rockslides_halt_DSNG\/images\/20100728-235834-pic-584250690.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more Read more--><\/p>\n<p>Hikers near the fourteeners Missouri and Huron on the road to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kdvr.com\/news\/kdvr-mudslide-chaffee-txt,0,4472701.story\">Clohesy Lake<\/a> experienced this where 40 people had to be evacuated:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media.trb.com\/media\/photo\/2010-08\/mudslide_55344602.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>But, the biggest one of all was a giant landslide off of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouverite.com\/2010\/08\/07\/1500-evacuated-after-massive-b-c-landslide\/\">Mount Meager in British Columbia<\/a> which also took out a glacier along the way.  The landslide continued 2+km down the Meager Creek and crossing the Lillooet river, blocking it&#8217;s drainage and putting the town of Pemberton in flood-danger.
