June Mountain Biking in Crested Butte

(Last Updated On: July 9, 2017)

June is always an amazing month in Crested Butte because we always see such fast change. At the beginning of the month, many of the trails are often snow-covered and not rideable. But, every day, the snow melts a lot more then you think it will. And every day you spot more and more wildflowers that weren’t there the day before. The rate of change is remarkable. And, aside from the astounding beauty, the sheer change is part of what makes the month of June so amazing.

Here’s a recap from some of our June mountain biking in Crested Butte…

Upper Loop

Natalie came to visit at the beginning of the month. Here’s some shots of the very green Upper Loop. Jun 1st.

Warm Springs Loop & Caves

The best ride of the month by far was “Warm Springs Loop”. We took Walrod Cutoff to 409 to Point Lookout and then descended via Double Top back to Walrod Gulch. We then descended Warm Springs trail to Cement Creek Road and took the Lower Cement Creek trail when we could. We then re-climbed Walrod Cutoff to descend the Caves Trail. The wildflowers on Walrod Cutoff were absolutely sensational. June 24th.
