The big thing with the pull/drag method is taking the weight off the pack itself.  Perhaps not a big deal for the shorter, skinnier, lighter skis that I&#039;m guessing you prefer, but for a heavier setup it&#039;s pretty nice.  This was especially true the first time I tried it, since I&#039;d already been carrying my skis and boots on the pack up Copper Creek on the way to Whiterock on dry ground.

As for the transition speed of the pull/drag method, it&#039;s about the same as diagonal, and maybe a bit quicker than A-frame, although the skins have to come off, which in many cases isn&#039;t necessary or even desired if more skinning is coming up...</description>
