Well presented, Frank. I always find it alarming when people take such an absolute and unyielding stance on a topic. They are bound to hypocrisy when they draw their lines in the sand - 'I can drive my car 50 miles to and from a trailhead 2-3 times a week, but no one can take motorized means any further than I did.' Classic NIMBY philosophy. I will agree that snowmobiles and other motorized backcountry travel means have their time and place where they belong and where they do not, but to seek to eliminate them is over-the-top selfish, especially with an abundance of places where bc users can enjoy the wilds without the disturbance of motor vehicles. Respect for your fellow users works both ways...
