Hi there,it was interesting to come across your blog as I'm in bed recovering at the moment from having the left side of my thyroid removed plus a couple of lumps.......
I've still got the stitches in but am looking forward to having them taken out on Wednesday and then I'll hopefully be able to move my head more.....the pain is awful and I get really tired very quickly now.....
I'm just taking it easy and making the most of being looked after.... :) x

Good luck with your surgery, Linda! I was lucky because my surgery only required removal of half of my thyroid. I do believe that recovery is a bit longer for full thyroid removal. That being said, I understand what you're going through and how scary this surgery can be, especially for a female athlete. I can assure you, I've had several female athlete friends who have made full recoveries. Good luck :)

Thanks for your blogs. I am about to embark on the same surgery and was concerned about whether I'll be able to continue competing in triathlons this year. I was thrilled to hear that you could run and bike two weeks after your surgery. Glad to hear that you are doing well.
