Is the lack of snow this season starting to really freak you out? Just remember 2007-2008. Here’s a couple of shots from Thanksgiving weekend in 2007:

Looks familiarly dry and dismal, doesn’t it? I’m not sure if we’ll go all the way to Thanksgiving this season with it looking so dry, but in any case things changed in a hurry back in 2007. Just one week after the photos above, things were looking decidedly more winter-like.
2007-08 remains my best season of all time, with local backcountry areas like Schofield Pass and Irwin racking up gigantic totals of roughly 900″ for the year. I’m still hoping we’ll have another one just like it this season. Perhaps it will begin with the storm coming in this weekend. We can only hope.
